Team FALKEN Motorsports Racecar Finishes Ninth Overall at the Nürburgring 24h-Race
The Sumitomo Rubber Group is pleased to announce that Team FALKEN Motorsports, the racing team of Falken Tyre Europe (our group’s tire sales company in Europe), competed in the recent Nürburgring 24h-Race (Official Name: ADAC TotalEnergies 24h Nürburgring), which was held in Nürburg, Germany this past May 26 through 29. Of the two Porsche 911 GT3R racecars that Team FALKEN Motorsports fielded, Car No. 33 finished the race in ninth place overall, which was not only the highest placement of any Porsche racecar competing in this year’s race, but also marked the ninth consecutive year in which Team FALKEN Motorsports has finished in the Top 10.

Sumitomo Rubber Group Achieves Shift to 100% Renewable Energy to Meet the Electric Power Needs of Tire Factories in China
Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. is pleased to announce that, as part of our ongoing efforts to contribute to the realization of a carbon-free society, the Sumitomo Rubber Group’s two tire factories in the People’s Republic of China (Changshu Factory and Hunan Factory) completed the transition to purchasing 100% of their electric power from renewable energy sources in January of 2022.In addition, with further plans to install solar power generators from the second half of the year, these two factories are now slated to reduce their total annual (2022) CO2 emissions from tire manufacturing processes by an estimated 70% compared to their 2021 emissions levels.
