Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. is pleased to announce that we will continue supplying one-make tires under our world-renowned DUNLOP brand for the Moto2 and Moto3 Classes at the FIM Road Racing Grand Prix World Championship, which ranks among the world’s premier motorcycle racing tournaments, through 2023.
Since it was first held in 1949, the FIM Road Racing Grand Prix World Championship has grown into one of the world’s leading motorcycle racing tournaments. In this tournament, riders compete in one of three distinct classes (MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3), and Sumitomo Rubber Industries has been proud to supply one-make tires for Moto2 and Moto3 since these classes were first introduced (in 2010 and 2012, respectively).
With races taking place at rotating circuits throughout the world, the FIM Road Racing Grand Prix World Championship requires tires that are highly adaptable to varying road and weather conditions and that can demonstrate the same level of high performance no matter where or when races are held. Sumitomo Rubber Industries is proud to have contributed to improved overall lap times by supplying our DUNLOP tires, which we developed specifically for the Moto2 and Moto3 Classes while drawing upon our many years of experience in developing tires for competitive motorsports.
Throughout the world, Sumitomo Rubber Industries supplies motorcycle tires for various races and racing categories—from open competitions for beginners to world-class tournaments. Through our active participation in motorsports, we will continue to further enhance the value of our DUNLOP brand and augment our overall tire development capabilities while at the same time directly supporting riders competing in races the world over and contributing to the development and popularization of competitive motorsports in general.
