Falken Tires Begin Production at Tonawanda Plant
Sumitomo Rubber USA (SRUSA) cured its first Falken branded tire at their plant in Buffalo, NY; the first Falken-branded tire by SRUSA to be made in North America.
“It’s great to see the first Falken-branded tire come out of SRUSA,” said Sumitomo Rubber USA CEO & Chairman, and Sumitomo Rubber North America Chairman Kenji Onga. “Due to our domestic manufacturing, the tires that come out of Buffalo will enhance the level of service and increase the speed at which product is received for our customers.”
With a U.S.-based manufacturing plant, in addition to a private test track and advanced technical resources, SRUSA will position the Falken Tires brand among the most competitive in terms of quality, reliability and product fill times. Although still in trial production, the tires made from the Buffalo plant are scheduled to begin shipping in the fourth quarter of 2016.
